A’s Look to 200 and Beyond

Oakland AThe Oakland Athletics had a tough season in 2009 finishing in last place in the American League West with a record of 75-87. It was the third consecutive year that their percentage has declined, and that’s never good. Some good news is that their pitching and bullpen are both pretty strong. What they lack is a power baseball bat or two.

 

With plans of using the farm system more than free agency this next year, it could take some time to climb out of the cellar. The A’s plan to bring up about seven players from the miners along with their stockpile of youth baseball gloves. That is a tough way to build a ballclub. Hopefully, the fans are patient…
