Phillies Riding High for 200

Philly PhanaticThe Philadelphia Phillies are a very good baseball team. After two World Series in a row, (beat the Tampa Bay Rays in 2008 and lost to the Yankees in ’09) they are on track to go back again in 2010. After finishing with a record of 93-69, good enough for first place in the National League East, it doesn’t look like much can stop them. They are strong at just about all positions and are looking to improve the pitching staff even more.

Even as this is being written, a trade with Toronto for pitching ace Roy Halladay seems very likely. Should that go through, Halladay would be a boost for an already strong staff. So, baring any major injuries, the baseball bats keep popping, and the pitcher’s arms stay strong, this Phillies team will be at or near the top for quite some time to come…
