Coors FieldThe Colorado Rockies are looking very optimistically at the 2010 baseball season, and they have every right to be. Coming off a third best in the National League, wild-card finish with a record of 92-70, they were just three games behind the Dodgers. They have had two playoff appearances in the past three years, and they don’t show signs of going away any time soon.

The Rockies have good depth in a young, very athletic outfield, and they are strong in almost all of the other positions. There shouldn’t be much trade movement this winter because most of the pieces are in place for another playoff run. Their salary commitments aren’t so high that they don’t have room to negotiate if they decide to add a player or two. It wouldn’t hurt to look at just a little pitching help and a right-handed bat would be a plus. So, looking ahead to 2010, the fans at Coors Field will be hearing the crack of the baseball bats in the cool Colorado air on a regular basis…
