Arizona Diamondbacks Look to 200

It always amazes me that when a team does poorly, the manager (Bob Melvin) gets the ax. The D-backs finished dead last in the National League West with a record of 70-92. Only two years previous, they won their division with a lot of hungry young ball players trying to earn a spot in the majors. They were even still in contention until the last week of the 2008 season, but something went very wrong in â09.
It was a combination of poor fielding with 124 errors, second most in baseball, a bunch of strike outs and a sense of complacency. With that many errors, these young men need to make sure they actually catch the ball in their Rawlings baseball gloves. Worse than that though, is being complacent. Thereâs no excuse for that! The Diamondbacks need to get a good attitude back, which will reignite their competitive edge. There is some good news though; they still have the core group of young, talented players who helped win the division in 2007. Now if theyâll only play as well as theyâre being paid!!
